16Mo3 is a low-alloy steel grade defined by the EN 10216-2 standard. Its chemical makeup consists of about 0.12–0.20% Carbon, 0.30–0.90% Manganese, 0.25–0.35% Molybdenum, along with trace amounts of Silicon, Phosphorus, and Sulfur. The inclusion of Molybdenum significantly boosts its resistance to high temperatures and enhances creep strength. In terms of mechanical properties, it boasts a tensile strength ranging from 440–590 MPa, a yield strength of at least 220 MPa, and impressive elongation. This steel maintains its stability and structural integrity even under high pressure and thermal stress, making it perfect for heat exchanger tubes, boilers, and pressure vessels.
