ABS EH36 Shipbuilding Steel is a high-tensile structural steel grade recognized by the American Bureau of Shipping. Its typical chemical makeup includes carbon (ā¤0.18%), manganese (0.90ā1.60%), silicon (0.10ā0.50%), phosphorus (ā¤0.035%), sulfur (ā¤0.035%), along with trace elements of copper, nickel, chromium, and molybdenum. On the mechanical side, it boasts a minimum yield strength of 355 MPa and tensile strength ranging from 490 to 620 MPa, along with excellent notch toughness and impact resistance, even in colder temperatures. The steel is available in normalized, thermo-mechanically rolled, or quenched and tempered conditions to enhance its performance in marine environments.
