SA 285 Grade A is a carbon steel pressure vessel plate that boasts low to intermediate tensile strength. Its typical chemical makeup includes carbon (max 0.17%), manganese (0.9% max), phosphorus (0.035% max), and sulfur (0.035% max). This material provides a minimum yield strength of 165 MPa and a tensile strength that ranges from 380 to 515 MPa, making it perfect for moderate and lower-temperature service applications.
